As America’s #1 home appliance brand*, Samsung designs products that are more innovative, flexible, and connected than any other brand. Looking to build its relationship with home builders, developers, and designers, Tractorbeam partnered with the Samsung Builder team to evolve its marketplace presence and expression.

Developing a design system and brand voice

We developed a flexible design system inspired by Swiss design fundamentals to meet the nuanced and varied needs of the Samsung Builder channel. Additionally, we created voice guidelines to coordinate how we speak to their multiple target audience segments. Working together, both systems seamlessly create a unified visual language to mirror the brand’s reliability, efficiency, and innovation in the industry.

In a category where in-person interactions yield pivotal decisions, a physical product catalog designed especially for Builders is a front-line tool for sales teams. Using our established design system and editorial voice, Tractorbeam worked with the Samsung Builder team to develop a more functional print catalog that responded to the modern needs of their clientele. In doing so, we integrated a new form factor, incorporated technology information throughout, and found ways to visually highlight overlooked details. The new catalog format has since been scaled globally by Samsung and is recognized as best-in-class design for the industry.

Tractorbeam works hand-in-hand with the client and Product Management teams at Samsung to ensure accurate content for each catalog edition. We developed a content management approach that allows us to collaborate with our clients and designers, creating a streamlined and straightforward approach.

As the brand grows, Tractorbeam continues to work with Samsung Builder leadership to develop new and ongoing brand materials and programs for builders, remodelers, and designers.
