The Fordson hotel is a tribute to Oklahoma City’s spirit of entrepreneurism and a historic revival of Fred Jones’ iconic Ford Motor Company assembly plant. Fordson honors the stories of the past to create space for the ones that have yet to be written.

In collaboration with the Hyatt Unbound collection and Duro Hospitality, Tractorbeam began by researching the legendary Fred Jones whose hard work and ingenuity in the automotive industry formed the backbone of the brand strategy. In crafting Fordson’s tone and foundation, we sought to underline the hotel as not only a place of storied, iconic experiences but a cozy home away from home - a place built for moments that inspire both guests and the neighborhood.

Leaning on the brand’s penchant for authenticity and craftsmanship, we partnered with the talented illustrator Nathan Yoder to perfectly render the historic building as the centerpiece of the new brand identity, along with a handful of period-inspired marks and typography. To contrast the industrial foundation, we developed a series of lifestyle illustrations to represent the many vibrant stories and characters at Fordson Hotel and to usher the past into the future.
